Syria: Aleppo, Islamic State leader killed in US raid

(Adnkronos) – US forces killed an Islamic State leader in a raid conducted today in the province of Aleppo. Centcom, the central command overseeing US forces in the Middle East, reports this. The statement specifies that Dhiya Zawba Muslih al-Hardani was killed in the raid, along with his two adult sons, also members of ISIS. 

“These members of the Islamic State were a threat to US and coalition forces and to the new government of Syria,” the statement continues, adding that three women and three children present at the time of the raid were unharmed.
