France: Lebanese Georges Abdallah released after 40 years in prison

(Adnkronos) – Georges Abdallah is free after 40 years in prison. The pro-Palestinian Lebanese activist, convicted in the 1980s for complicity in the murders of American and Israeli diplomats and considered one of the longest-serving French prisoners, has left prison. Abdallah was released after serving nearly 40 years in prison for his involvement in the murder of Israeli diplomat Yaakov Bar-Simantov in 1982 and the attempted assassination of US consul Robert Homme in 1984.
