(Adnkronos) – A series of explosions occurred in an arms depot in northwestern Syria, killing at least 12 people and injuring another 100. This was reported by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, according to which the arms and ammunition depot belongs to the Turkistan Islamic Party (Tip). Among the victims are a woman and a child. The Syrian Ministry of Health had reported four dead and 116 injured confirmed, in an initial assessment.
The Tip is a jihadist group active in the Idlib region made up of Uyghur fighters who joined the Syrian civil war to fight against former President Bashar al-Assad.
