(Adnkronos) – A woman suspected of “conspiracy to commit a terrorist act” with the intent to kill Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been indicted by the Israeli Prosecutor’s Office. The Ministry of Justice announced this. “The State Prosecutor’s Office has filed an indictment against a Tel Aviv resident for attempted conspiracy to commit a terrorist act (aggravated murder),” the statement reads, specifying that the suspect intended to “kill Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu”.
The suspect, whose name has not been authorized for publication, is a woman “engaged in mobilization” against the government and, knowing she has an incurable disease, wanted to “sacrifice herself to save the State of Israel,” according to the statement. The prosecution has asked the court to keep the suspect under house arrest due to her “dangerousness”. She was arrested after a political activist she had contacted and with whom she had shared her plans contacted a lawyer, who in turn alerted the security services. The suspect’s lawyer, Giora Zylberstein, interviewed on private Channel 12, stated that her client “had no intention of killing Netanyahu”.
