(Adnkronos) – The German government has given the green light to the export of Eurofighter aircraft to Turkey, says spokesman Stefan Kornelius. Last March, Berlin had stopped the sale of the jets, after the arrest of Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu. The sale requires the unanimous consent of the four partner countries (Italy, Germany, United Kingdom and Spain). The purchase of 40 Eurofighter Typhoons, reports the specialized website Aerotime.aero, is part of Ankara’s effort to modernize its Air Force.
