(Adnkronos) – Foreign under-secretary Maria Tripodi on Wednesday held wide-ranging talks with the European Union’s new envoy to Africa’s Sahel which covered Europe’s role and security in the volatile sub-Saharan region.
“At Italy’s foreign ministry I met @JoaoCravinho, the new EU Special Representative for the Sahel,” Tripodi wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
“A fruitful and in-depth discussion on revitalising European engagement in the region, Italy’s Mattei Plan (to boost Africa’s economic development), combating terrorism, and Migration Flows.
