USA, Comey’s prosecutor daughter fired, former FBI director, worked on Epstein Maxwell case

17 Luglio 2025

(Adnkronos) – Federal prosecutor Maurene Comey, who worked on the Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell cases, was fired without official motivation in the United States. This could be a ticking time bomb for Donald Trump, with the revelations anticipated by the accomplice of the financier who died in prison in 2019, accused of soliciting minors and sex trafficking, and the pressing requests on the White House for the publication of the files related to the case. Maurene Comey is also the daughter of former FBI Director James Comey, fired by Trump during his first term in the White House.

The news of Maurene’s dismissal, which falls within the powers of the White House provided for by Article II of the Constitution cited in the letter, was anticipated by the American media, according to which the prosecutor was later escorted out of her office by colleagues in solidarity. The notification, delivered to the person concerned yesterday afternoon (local time) was signed by Frances Hakes, head of the executive office of Attorneys at the politically appointed Department of Justice.

Maurene Comey, an esteemed federal prosecutor for nearly ten years, had also worked on the case of rapper Sean Combs, known as Diddy, who was also involved in sex trafficking proceedings, but recently acquitted of the most serious charges. Maxwell was convicted of sex trafficking. Last week the Justice Department confirmed the opening of a case against Comey Sr.
