(Adnkronos) – Italy has deplored Israeli army attacks on civilians in war-wrecked Gaza and a strike which hit its Catholic parish on Thursday, reportedly killing two women, wounding several people including a priest and damaging the Holy Family Church – the only Catholic church in the Palestinian coastal enclave.
“The attacks by the Israeli army against the civilian population in #Gaza are no longer acceptable,” Italy’s foreign minister Antonio Tajani wrote on X.
“In this morning’s raid, the Church of the Holy Family in Gaza was also hit, a serious act against a Christian place of worship,” Tajani continued.
“All my support goes to (parish priest) Father (Gabriel) Romanelli, who was injured during the raid. It is time to stop and find peace,” Tajani underlined.
