Australia, climate change: aborigines lose case against government

(Adnkronos) – Australian aborigines living on a series of islands threatened by climate change have lost a landmark court case to hold the government accountable for missed emissions targets. 

“Any additional greenhouse gas that may have been emitted by Australia as a result of lower emissions reduction targets would have caused only an almost immeasurable increase in global average temperature,” the Australian Federal Court ruled.
