UN, ‘798 dead while seeking food in Gaza, 615 near Ghf sites’

11 Luglio 2025

(Adnkronos) – At least 798 people have been killed while trying to receive food aid in the Gaza Strip since the end of May. This was reported by the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).

Of the deaths recorded since May 27, 615 were in the vicinity of centers operated by the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), supported by the United States and Israel, an OHCHR spokesperson told reporters. Another 183 civilians were killed along the routes followed by aid convoys, he added.

The GHF has come under heavy criticism from the UN and several humanitarian organizations, who accuse it of failing to meet the basic needs of the Gaza population. Numerous witnesses have reported almost daily episodes of groups of people trying to reach GHF sites being targeted by Israeli gunfire. Israel, for its part, accuses Hamas of attacking civilians seeking aid and falsifying casualty figures.
