(Adnkronos) – Italy and France continue to support Ukraine against invader Russia, are working for a truce in Gaza, back Syria and Lebanon’s stability, want to stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and to kick-start Libya’s stalled political process, foreign minister Antonio Tajani stated Friday.

“With France’s foreign minister @jnbarrot (Jean Noel Barrot) we reaffirmed our steadfast commitment to standing shoulder to shoulder with Kyiv,” Tajani wrote on X.

Tajani’s post followed talks with Barrot on the sidelines of the two-day Ukraine Recovery conference taking place in Rome through Friday.

“The success of #URC2025 has shown Italy’s ability to engage all key stakeholders in Ukraine’s reconstruction and to preserve European Union-United States unity in backing the country’s quest for a just and lasting peace,” Tajani wrote.

“With Barrot, we also addressed the situation in the Middle East. We are working for a ceasefire in #Gaza and for Syria’s stability. We support dialogue between Washington and Tehran and preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons,” Tajani continued.

“Full support for (UN peacekeeping force) @UNIFIL_and its role in stabilizing Lebanon. On #Libia, we relaunch the political process, in which the United Nations plays a fundamental role,” the post concluded.
