USA, 14 million people at risk of flooding

(Adnkronos) – 14 million people are at risk of flooding in the United States, where a ‘Flood Watch’ has been issued today in areas that could be affected, after the devastation in Texas that cost the lives of at least 120 people. In particular, the areas most at risk are those of North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and southern New England. It is also raining in Massachusetts, where serious road flooding has been reported in Mansfield and Norwood. 

During the day, the highest risk of flooding will occur in saturated areas of central Virginia, central North Carolina and northern South Carolina, as explained by NBC News. At the same time, strong thunderstorms are possible today in parts of Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa, where hail, strong winds and isolated tornadoes are expected.
