(Adnkronos) – Italy’s state investment agency SIMEST is making available 300 million euros for small and medium-sized enterprises involved in the reconstruction of war-shattered Ukraine, foreign minister Antonio Tajani said on Wednesday.
The SIMEST funds will “provide concrete support to our SMEs involved in rebuilding Ukraine,” Tajani said at parliamentary question-time.
Tajani’s comments came ahead of a major conference on reconstructing Ukraine that will take place in Rome on Thursday and Friday.
Representatives of almost 100 countries, dozens of international and financial organizations, 2,500 companies, local authorities and Italian, Ukrainian and international civil society associations are set to attend the Ukraine Recovery Conference at the Nuvola convention centre.
The conference revolves around a technical forum and a business fair, focusing on four ‘dimensions’: economic, human, local/regional, and reform-related.
