(Adnkronos) – Hamas has expressed satisfaction with the new proposal for a ceasefire agreement with Israel in the Gaza Strip and noted that mediators are making great efforts to reach an agreement between the parties. This is according to the Saudi newspaper Asharq News, which reports that Hamas should present its official response to the proposal by tomorrow evening.
Hamas, however, the article reads, continues to challenge several points of the proposal. Its main concerns regard the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip and the withdrawal of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) from the Palestinian enclave. Hamas has nevertheless stated that it considers the proposal with “responsibility” and is willing to demonstrate flexibility, provided that Palestinian interests are respected.
