(Adnkronos) – German voters confirm the choices made on February 23 at the polls: a new poll conducted by the Forschungsgruppe Wahlen institute for the public broadcaster Zdf attributes 29% of the preferences, therefore slightly more than in the general elections (28.5%), to the CDU/CSU conservative bloc, which came first in February and now leads the government formed in coalition with the Social Democrats of the SPD. Compared to a previous survey at the beginning of June, the conservative bloc also gains two percentage points.
As in the parliamentary elections, the far-right AfD maintains second place, but compared to the beginning of June it loses one point, standing at 22% of the preferences. The Social Democrats remain in third place – with 15% – the Greens are at 12%, while the Left loses one percentage point, dropping to 10%. The Liberals of the FDP and the new Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance would not exceed – as in February – the 5% threshold of the Bundestag if they voted on Sunday.
