(Adnkronos) – Tragedy in Bangui, capital of the Central African Republic, where at least 29 high school students lost their lives in the stampede that followed the explosion of an electrical transformer. The Ministry of Health reported this to AFP.
The incident occurred around 1 p.m., during the second day of the baccalauréat – the local equivalent of the high school final exam – while over 5,300 students were inside the school building, taking the test.
