(Adnkronos) – The director of the Russian Investigative Committee, Aleksandr Bastrykin, has ordered the opening of a criminal case against an eight-year-old minor for an act of desecration of a symbol of military glory in the context of actions to rehabilitate Nazism. The minor, whose gender was not specified, is accused of pouring water, extinguishing it, on the eternal flame of a memorial of the Great Patriotic War in Semibratovo, in the Yaroslav region, on Russia Day, last Thursday.
“The juvenile office had a preliminary interview with the minor and their legal guardians and identified the reasons for their actions.” A video of the incident was posted on Telegram’s 112 channel, associated with the security services. The minor approaches the flame on a bicycle and pours water on it from a small bottle. When the flame goes out, they add more water. They leave the empty bottle on the ground and ride away.
