(Adnkronos) – The vast majority of Americans, 81%, believe that Donald Trump and his administration must respect the rulings of federal judges, if these declare a government action illegal, according to a poll conducted for NBC News by Survey Monkey, which records that only 19% say that the administration can ignore the rulings and proceed with its actions.
But among voters who define themselves as Maga, the far-right movement inspired by Trump’s Make America Great Again, positions appear divided, with 50% believing that Trump should respect the rulings, and 50% that the president is not required to do so. In recent weeks, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller has spoken of “Marxist judges” who are carrying out “a judicial coup” by opposing the president’s authority and powers.
