(Adnkronos) – US President Donald Trump has announced a visa ban for foreign students attending Harvard, a further escalation of his conflict with American academic institutions he accuses of promoting excessively progressive leftist ideas. It is ”retaliation”, Harvard University reacted.
“I have concluded that it is necessary to restrict entry to foreign nationals who wish to come to the United States to participate, solely or substantially, in a program of study at Harvard University,” the US president said in a statement.
“This is yet another unlawful retaliation taken by the Administration, in violation of Harvard’s First Amendment rights. Harvard will continue to protect its international students,” a Harvard spokesperson said.
