(Adnkronos) – “When the United States imposed reciprocal tariffs,” “China was the only country to respond” and “in retaliation” – in addition to counter-tariffs – they imposed “countermeasures,” such as placing US companies on a blacklist and restricting exports of critical minerals. And when during the Geneva talks the Chinese delegates agreed to “remove their tariffs and their countermeasures, they removed the tariff measures as we did but they slowed down on some countermeasures.” This was stated on CNBC by the US Trade Representative, Jamieson Greer, after Donald Trump’s accusation to the Asian giant of having “completely violated the agreement” for the 90-day pause agreed in Geneva at the height of the tariff and counter-tariff war. “We haven’t seen the flow of some of those critical minerals as it should have been,” Greer added.
