(Adnkronos) – Italy, Kazakhstan and other central Asian republics must keep up their anti-terrorism cooperation and joint fight against trafficking syndicates, premier Giorgia Meloni told the Astana International Forum during her visit to Astana.
“The interdependence of our destinies is a fact,” Meloni said.
“This is the case even when we are required to come to together to defend our security, the security of our citizens, the security of our peoples,” Meloni went on.
“We must continue to join our efforts also to fight terrorism and smash the transnational criminal organizations that profit from drug, arms and human trafficking,” she said.
At the annual Astana International Forum, top government, international organisation, business representatives and academics look at the key global challenges and seeking practical solutions to tackle them.
This year, the two-day conference has expanded its focus to address energy security, climate action, geopolitical cooperation, international trade, technological innovation, and sustainable development – reflecting the interconnected nature of today’s global landscape and the need for collaborative, cross-sectoral approaches, AIF said on its website.
