(Adnkronos) – Hamas reported that it has reached an agreement with the US envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff “on the general lines” for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. In a note, Hamas explains that the draft agreement provides that in exchange for the truce the group will release ten living Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners and the IDF will completely withdraw from the Gaza Strip.
The draft agreement, Hamas explains, provides for the entry of humanitarian aid and the transfer of power from Hamas to a “professional committee” that will administer the Palestinian enclave after the war.
