(Adnkronos) – On the 600th day of the war between Israel and Hamas, the families of Israeli hostages still held in the Gaza Strip blocked a major road in central Tel Aviv, demanding a comprehensive agreement that guarantees the release of all prisoners and the end of the conflict. Haaretz reports.
“For 600 days we have been without our loved ones, while the Israeli government abandons them to preserve its own coalition,” reads the harsh statement from the demonstrators, who directly accuse Prime Minister Netanyahu and his allies Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir of preferring the occupation of Gaza to the rescue of the hostages. According to the families, the government has never put forward a serious proposal for their release and is adopting a selective release strategy, condemning some hostages “to life or death”.
