Ukraine: Italy deplores barrage of deadly Russian strikes

(Adnkronos) – Italy’s “strongly condemns” Russia’s firing of hundreds of drones and missiles at Ukraine over the weekend, attacks that were the most severe since its full-scale invasion began in February 2022. 

“Italy strongly condemns the new Russian attack that struck Ukrainian territory with drones and missiles, with the sole purpose of targeting the civilian population,” foreign minister Antonio Tajani wrote on X.  

“Italy has always stood by “Ukraine. The government continues to work with partners and allies for a just and lasting peace,” Tajani went on. 

Russia fired 367 drones and missiles at Ukraine late Saturday and into Sunday – the highest number in a night since the start of the full-scale invasion. At least 12 people were killed according to officials.
