Russia, boom of tourists from China, in 2024 the number of visitors quadrupled

(Adnkronos) – Boom in Chinese tourism in Russia. In 2024, the number of visitors who made a trip with a tour operator, equal to 848,040, quadrupled compared to the previous year, when they were 199,791. And in the first three months of the year, 106,700 Chinese have already arrived in Russia for tourism, with an increase of 7.9 percent compared to the previous year. The Chinese visit the Moscow metro and the Hermitage in St. Petersburg. But also isolated locations in the far north and far east of Russia. Last year, 1.2 million Chinese visited Russia while 1.6 million Russians visited China, Vladimir Putin announced after meeting Xi Jinping on the 8th of this month. The increase follows the visa liberalization launched in 2023.
