(Adnkronos) – Rome will host an Italy-Latin America summit on 7 October, foreign minister Antonio Tajani said during a visit to Mexico aimed at bolstering bilateral ties, a 15-year-old strategic partnership and anti-crime cooperation.
“It is an honour for me to announce here in Mexico that on October 7, I will host in Rome the Italy-Latin America summit to which the foreign ministers of the whole continent are invited,” said Tajani.
Tajani announced the upcoming Italy-Latin America summit during an address given in Spanish to the Italy-Mexico business forum in Mexico City late on Thursday.
“The Rome meeting is an opportunity to strengthen our ties,” Tajani said.
The Italy-Mexico business forum marked a new stage in implementing an Export Action Plan aimed at further strengthening “already excellent” bilateral relations by developing key industrial sectors such as the automotive industry, the green economy, physical and digital infrastructure, food production and processing, Tajani said in a statement ahead of his visit to Mexico from Thursday to Saturday.
