USA House approves Trump’s maxi tax package, now it’s the Senate’s turn

22 Maggio 2025

(Adnkronos) – With a close vote of 215 in favor and 214 against, the United States House of Representatives approved the gigantic tax and spending bill that includes many of President Donald Trump’s priorities. Dubbed the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act”, the measure provides for the extension of the tax cuts enacted in 2017, the abolition of taxes on tips, and a significant increase in spending on defense and border security. After the House’s approval, the text will now go to the Republican-majority Senate, where it could undergo changes before final approval.

House Speaker, Republican Mike Johnson, called the package “a transformational change” and “a turning point in American history.” However, according to the Congressional Budget Office, the bill would increase the U.S. national debt by about $2.3 trillion over ten years.
