(Adnkronos) – At least four children were killed and another 30 were injured in a suicide attack on a school bus they were traveling on in Balochistan, a region in southwestern Pakistan hit by a surge in violence. Local officials told AFP. “A bus from a school reserved for the children of soldiers was hit,” said Yasir Iqbal Dashti, a senior local government official. “According to initial findings, it was a suicide attack,” he added.
The attack has not yet been claimed, but the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and the regional branch of the Islamic State group (IS-K) regularly claim responsibility for attacks in the province. In recent days, four civilians and four paramilitaries have been killed by bombs in Balochistan.
