Nigeria, 5 soldiers of the multinational force were killed in a jihadist attack in the northeast

(Adnkronos) – Five soldiers of the joint multinational force deployed in Nigeria were killed in a pre-dawn jihadist attack on a military base in Wulgo, in the northeast of the country, not far from the border with Cameroon, reports Afp citing local military sources. Four soldiers are Nigerian and a fifth from Cameroon. Nine assailants were also killed in the attack. The joint force is made up of soldiers from Cameroon, Nigeria, Chad, and is deployed around Lake Chad, where the Boko Haram group and its rivals from the Islamic State in West Africa are based. In March, a Boko Haram attack on the same base killed 25 Cameroonian soldiers.
