(Adnkronos) – Nicolas Sarkozy will benefit from the parole regime. This was announced by the Paris prosecutor’s office, quoted by Afp. Sarkozy’s electronic bracelet, which he had been wearing since February 7, was therefore removed. The former French president was sentenced in December to one year in prison in connection with the wiretapping scandal. Being 70 years old, he was able to apply for parole before the expiry of half of the sentence to which he was sentenced, which led to the removal of the bracelet after just over three months.
