(Adnkronos) – Diplomatic efforts to end the deadly conflict in Ukraine since Russia’s 2022 full-scale military invasion and an upcoming Rome conference on the former Soviet republic’s post-war reconstruction are the focus of talks in London and Verona on Monday attended by Italy’s foreign Antonio Tajani.
At the meeting in London between France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, the United Kingdom and the European Union, Tajani and his colleagues will assess the state of diplomatic efforts to reach a ceasefire and accord for a just peace between Russia and Ukraine, according to a foreign ministry statement.
The ministerial talks in London will also centre on future recovery priorities and prospects for Ukraine, including its path to EU membership, the statement said.
Later on Monday, Tajani will be in the Italian city of Verona to chair the fourth preparatory meeting for the Ukraine Recovery Conference which is slated to take place in Rome 10-11 July, the statement continued.
Over 450 local administrators, government representatives, and Italian, Ukrainian and international companies are taking part in Monday’s meeting in Verona, in the Veneto region.
