(Adnkronos) – Tensions remain very high between India and Pakistan, divided by the crisis that erupted on April 22 following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, in Indian Kashmir. New Delhi today accused Islamabad of a new wave of night attacks on its territory, despite numerous international appeals to the two countries for de-escalation. India has reported “multiple attacks” by Pakistani drones and firearms overnight “along the border.” “The drone attacks were repelled and responded to appropriately,” the army added.
Pakistan has not immediately responded. According to a police source quoted by Afp, during these attacks a civilian was killed by mortar fire in the Uri sector. The latest toll provided yesterday by Indian authorities spoke of 16 deaths among civilians. For its part, Pakistan reported 32 deaths among its population.
