(Adnkronos) – The Indian government has announced that its army killed Abdul Rauf Azhar, the terrorist who beheaded American Wall Street Journal journalist Daniel Pearl in front of cameras after kidnapping him in 2002, in a raid. The Bharatiya Janata Party (Bjp), India’s ruling party, explained that Abdul Rauf Azhar was killed during ‘Operation Sindhoor’. The terrorist was affiliated with al-Qaeda and the separatist group Jaish-e-Mohammed, which aims to completely annex Kashmir to Pakistan.
Daniel Pearl had traveled to Pakistan after the September 11, 2001 attacks on the Twin Towers and was kidnapped on January 23, 2002 from the Karachi hotel where he was staying.
