(Adnkronos) – “I want to congratulate Spain and Portugal on how they managed the crisis, the worst blackout in decades. There is no reason to believe that it is linked to renewables, because there are other countries with high” rates of energy production from renewable sources “that have much lower blackout rates than other countries that do not have them”. This was stated by the European Commissioner for Energy Dan Jorgensen, at a press conference in Strasbourg. “We are naturally looking forward to the conclusions” that explain what happened and “we hope that they also include recommendations”, he concludes.
