(Adnkronos) – A series of earthquakes has hit Myanmar, which on March 28 was hard hit by the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that caused 3,798 deaths. The latest earthquake swarm caused a series of shocks of varying magnitude, ”the strongest of magnitude 4.8 was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometers”, as reported by the Earthquake Monitoring Unit of the Thai Meteorological Department.
”The epicenter was in Myanmar, near the border with Thailand. Several other tremors were recorded in the same area from the early hours of the morning until mid-morning, with magnitudes between 1.9 and 3.0,” the department said in a statement.
