(Adnkronos) – Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has postponed his official visit to Malaysia scheduled for Friday, following the increase in tensions with India after the April 22 attack in Kashmir. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced this, stating that he had expressed understanding for the critical situation in which Pakistan finds itself and hoping for a rapid de-escalation.
According to Sharif’s office, the two leaders spoke last night and the Pakistani premier expressed his intention to make the visit later in the year. Meanwhile, Islamabad is seeking diplomatic support among friendly countries: this morning, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was officially received in the Pakistani capital. “Pakistan is presenting its point of view to friendly countries,” said Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, visiting Islamabad-administered Kashmir.
