(Adnkronos) – The Pakistani government today announced a series of diplomatic measures against India, after New Delhi accused Islamabad of supporting “cross-border terrorism” and downgraded ties between the two countries, following the attack in Kashmir two days ago.
“Pakistan declares the Indian Defense, Navy and Air advisors in Islamabad persona non grata. They have been asked to leave Pakistan immediately,” a statement released by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s office said after a meeting of the national security committee. Visas issued to Indian citizens will be cancelled, except for Sikh pilgrims, it continues.
The statement adds that the borders will be closed, trade suspended, and airspace closed to companies owned or operated by India.
