(Adnkronos) – The Pakistan National Security Committee met this afternoon local time to decide on a response to the unprecedented diplomatic measures taken by India. The meeting was chaired by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the government said, after India accused its neighbor of supporting “cross-border terrorism” and downgraded the level of ties.
“The meeting of the National Security Committee has begun,” the Ministry of Information announced, as New Delhi is carrying out a massive manhunt and has promised to punish those responsible for the killing of 26 people in Kashmir on Tuesday.
The National Security Committee is made up of the country’s highest civilian and military leaders. The body meets only in cases of extreme urgency.
