(Adnkronos) – Estonia intends to establish a military base in the city of Narva, on the border with Russia. This was announced by the Estonian Chief of Staff, General Vahur Karus, as reported by the broadcaster Err. “It is planned to deploy units in Narva permanently, to normalize the daily presence of military personnel in the city,” Karus said, adding that there will be a rotation of the various units at the base. Initially, the deployment of about 200-250 soldiers is expected. Among these there will be both active military personnel, conscripts and reservists. “If the training cycle allows it, the unit going to Narva will be able to bring reservists with them to carry out combat tasks together,” the general added.
