(Adnkronos) – The Hamas-controlled Gaza authorities have appealed to citizens to ignore messages and calls from Israel which, under the pretext of offering trips outside the Strip, are actually aimed at gathering information or encouraging people to flee. In a statement published on Telegram, the Interior Ministry denounced “disinformation campaigns and psychological pressure” orchestrated by Israeli intelligence services and warned that legal measures will be taken against anyone who interacts with such contacts.
Hamas has accused Israel of using “deceptive methods” in an attempt to achieve what it has failed to achieve in months of armed conflict: the forced transfer of the Palestinian population. The local government also appealed to the international community to intervene to stop these practices, calling them a “violation of international law” and a deliberate attempt to empty Gaza. It was reiterated that freedom of movement is a fundamental right and that the prolonged closure of the Rafah crossing constitutes a crime.
