(Adnkronos) – France has called on Russia for the “immediate and unconditional” release of all those persecuted for political reasons, following the sentencing of four journalists Antonina Favorskaya, Artem Kriger, Sergei Karelin, and Konstantin Gabov to five years and six months in prison at the end of a trial that represents “a further demonstration, by the Russian authorities, of repression of any dissenting opinion”, as stated by the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Christophe Lemoine.
