(Adnkronos) – At Harvard University, one of the most prestigious in the United States, $2.2 billion in federal funds have been frozen after the university rejected a series of requests from the White House with the stated goal of combating anti-Semitism on campuses.
In a letter to students and staff, the university made public its opposition to the changes proposed by the Trump administration, which concerned internal governance, hiring practices and admissions policies.
“Harvard’s statement today confirms a troubling mindset of entitlement, now endemic in the nation’s most prestigious universities and colleges – the idea that federal investment does not imply a responsibility to comply with civil rights laws,” said a statement from the Trump-established Joint Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism.
