(Adnkronos) – The former president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, who has undergone surgery for the “sixth time” and has been hospitalized for the ninth time since he was stabbed during a rally in 2018, is back on X. He thanks for the support in this “delicate moment”. Bolsonaro underwent surgery for an intestinal blockage and stressed how doctors explained to him that the first 48 hours after the operation, which lasted “more than 12 hours”, are “crucial” for recovery, which is why so far he has only received visits from close relatives, in addition to medical staff.
“It is essential to avoid conversations and stimuli”, reads a post on X by the former president, with a photo of Bolsonaro in a hospital bed. The former president assures that he is “focused” on recovery after the “most invasive” surgery ever undergone and that he is “eager” to “return to walking and working, always listening carefully to the Brazilian people”.
Bolsonaro, who says he is determined to “overcome this challenge”, was hospitalized last Friday in Santa Cruz after complaining of severe abdominal pain during a political event in the state of Río Grande del Norte. From Santa Cruz he was then transferred to Natal and on Saturday he was operated on in Brasilia.
