(Adnkronos) – The 84% “additional duties” announced by China as “retaliation” in the midst of the trade war with the United States, in which Beijing said it was ready to fight “to the end”, are coming into force. The so-called ‘counter-duties’ will apply to all US products arriving in the Asian giant.
“From 12.01 on 10 April (6 in Italy) on all imported goods originating in the United States, additional tariffs of 84% will be applied in addition to the current applicable tariff,” reads the Global Times. According to the General Administration of Customs of China, the newspaper reports, “if the goods were shipped from the place of departure before 12.01 on 10 April and imported between 12.01 on 10 April and 24.00 on 13 May, the additional tariffs will not be applied”.
