This is how US President Donald Trump commented on Truth Social on the decision of the Washington Supreme Court that ruled in his favor on the Alien Enemies Act, thus allowing him to proceed with the ‘fast-track expulsions’ of illegal immigrants. “The Supreme Court has upheld the rule of law in our Nation by allowing a president, whoever he may be, to protect our borders and our families and our country itself,” Trump wrote.
Thanks to the green light from the Supreme Court, therefore, Trump will be able to invoke the 1798 law to speed up expulsions while the litigation over the application of this same law continues in the lower courts.
