(Adnkronos) – Canada has launched proceedings against the United States at the World Trade Organization (WTO) over President Donald Trump’s announcement of 25% tariffs on car imports. This was reported by the Geneva-based organization itself, which stressed that Canada has submitted a “request for consultations” to the WTO, the first step in launching a trade dispute, “regarding US measures imposing 25% tariffs on cars and car parts from Canada.” The WTO specified that the request for consultations was submitted on April 3, but was only circulated today among the organization’s members.
