(Adnkronos) – The detention of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s two top aides, Yonatan Urich and Eli Feldstein, who were arrested in connection with the ‘Qatargate’ investigation on March 31, has been extended. The Rishon LeZion court decided this, rejecting the police’s request to extend the detention for another seven days.
The two Netanyahu aides are suspected of taking money to spread pro-Qatar messages to journalists and to bolster the Gulf state’s image as a mediator in hostage talks between Israel and Hamas while they were in the prime minister’s service.
The editor-in-chief of the Jerusalem Post, Zvika Klein, has been released from house arrest.
