Moldova, Baerbock visits and guarantees EU support to Chisinau

(Adnkronos) – German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock traveled to Moldova where she brought the support of the European Union in view of the parliamentary elections scheduled for this year and the risk of further Russian interference. Baerbock was received by President Maia Sandu. She will also meet with Prime Minister Dorin Recean. On the agenda, the issue of energy supplies to Moldova. A European future is in sight for Moldova, which has been a candidate for EU membership since 2022, has stabilized its economy, resisted Moscow’s hybrid attacks and brought the energy and inflation crisis under control, Baerbock stressed. Since 2022, Germany has spent 230 million euros to support Moldova.
