(Adnkronos) – Hungary will withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC) during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Budapest. The Times of Israel writes this, citing its own sources and recalling that the one in Hungary is Netanyahu’s first trip abroad since, last year, the ICC issued an international arrest warrant against him for alleged war crimes committed in the Gaza Strip. The signatories to the Rome Statute, including Hungary, would be obliged to arrest Netanyahu.
After arriving in Hungary today, Netanyahu will meet Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban tomorrow. Already in November, Orban had invited Netanyahu to visit Hungary on an official visit without fear of being arrested.
