(Adnkronos) – Italy’s cabinet has signed off on the list of countries which the government deems safe for migrant repatriations, foreign minister Antonio Tajani said on Friday.
“We approved the report on safe countries of origin and compared to 2024 there are no changes or variations,” Tajani told reporters.
The countries which Rome considers safe are Albania. Algeria, Bangladesh, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Morocco, Montenegro, Peru, Senegal, Serbia, Sri Lanka and Tunisia, Tajani noted.
The list of countries will now go to parliament, Tajani said.
